Sylvester Stallone Died in Car Accident / Heart Attack at Gym are Fake, Scams

A Facebook post saying Sylvester Stallone died in a car accident and another claiming he died of a heart attack after hitting the gym are just scams and don’t have a shred of truth to them.

One reads: “[CNN NEWS] SYLVESTER STALLONE IS DEAD He died from heart attack after going to the gym!”

The other one says, “[R.I.P] Sylvester Stallone Died in a Horrible Car Accident!”

Neither one are true, and Stallone is still very much alive.

Both posts are scams that are used to trick users into clicking on a website. The one about him having a heart attack redirects to a website that asks users to download malware.

Another variant asks users to take surveys, which are how the scammers make their money.

“The hoax promises to show Facebook users a CCTV footage of Sylvester Stallone suffering from a heart attack at the gym. But, there is no video on the fake website that you will be taken to, if you click on the hoax,” reads a post from Online Threat Alerts, a security blog. “Clicking on the hoax (DO NOT) will only take you to the fake Facebook website. The website name may change, so look out for the same scam on different websites.”

Another security website Cyber Warzone says, “Once the user has shared the ‘[CNN NEWS] SYLVESTER STALLONE IS DEAD He died from heart attack after going to the gym!…’ hoax on their timeline, they will be redirected to a malicious website which will demand them to install a malicious application.”
